Why are ICF credentials important?
If you play a role as a coach whether you are working for a large organisation, leading a team or if you are an entrepreneur coach acquiring your ICF credentials will provide you with tools and credibility to achieve the most beneficial, effective, and helpful results your team members, future clients and organisation can anticipate.
Most organisations these days whether SME, Corporate, Non-profit or Government are requesting that coaches they engage with hold an ACC, PCC, or MCC Credentials from ICF.
Obtaining your ICF credentials shows your leaders, organisation, and clients you are committed to the coaching profession and builds your industry-wide credibility.

What is Mentor Coaching?
What is Mentor Coaching?
Within our Rise and Thrive offering we also undertake one-on-one Mentoring, Distance Mentoring, Group Mentoring and for those that want to attain their ACC, PCC and MCC we offer Mentor Coaching Programmes.
According to the International Coach Federation, “The ICF defines Mentor Coaching as providing professional assistance in achieving and demonstrating the levels of coaching competency demanded by the desired credential level sought by a coach‐applicant (mentee).”
As coaches, we work in a space where we are continually encouraging and championing the growth of our clients … and we see that it can only benefit us when we too, continually stretch and grow.
The opportunity for personal reflection, ongoing feedback and mentoring are not only an essential part of each coach’s professional and personal development, but they are also an important way for a coach to remain supported throughout their career.
Professional Development Requirement for ICF Accreditation
Professional Development Requirement for ICF Accreditation
Undertaking professional development via Mentor Coaching, for a minimum of ten hours, is also a requirement of gaining International Coach Federation (ICF) Accreditation at each credential level.
As you progress as a coach, it is recommended that you receive Mentoring or Supervision every couple of years. This not only helps coaches to become better at what they do; it ensures the consistency of professional standards delivered by ICF accredited coaches.
This is to ensure you are continually improving your own skills and experience and seeking feedback from a more experienced coach (PCC level at least), via an observed or recorded coaching session so that the mentor coach can provide a valuable assessment along with helpful feedback of capability in coaching, in alignment with the ICF Core Competencies.
Framework and Learning Outcomes
Framework and Learning Outcomes
There is a framework for the Mentor Coaching process, designed to ensure learning outcomes for coaches which include:
The integration of the eleven ICF core competencies and PCC markers into your coaching practice, by using and experiencing these during live supervised coaching sessions.
Developing and sharpening coaching skills and competence.
Develop and understand each of the ICF ACC, PCC and MCC minimum skill requirements.
To prepare, at your own pace to gain certification/accreditation.
To experience feedback in a safe and supportive environment.
To become aligned with the ICF Professional Standards and Code of Ethics.
To understand and work through the full accreditation process.
The Rise and Thrive Global team are trained in and follow all the guidelines developed by ICF.
